Mental Health Awareness Week 2016 Dates Announced

This year Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 16-22 May on the theme of relationships, and is being run ion the UK by The Mental Health Foundation.

Their recent press release describes how this year's theme is aimed at highlighting how healthy, nurturing relationships can help us protect and sustain good mental health. Celebrating the people in our lives that add to our wellbeing, from family and friends to colleagues and neighbours: taking notice of those connections that make you feel safe and supported.

During the week thousands of supporters across the UK (and abroad!) take part in and celebrate the week, helpingto raise awareness of the steps we can all take to improve our mental health. There are lots of ways you can get involved this year, from hosting events to sharing information and resources online:

1. Hold an event

Over the years, our supporters have held a variety of events during the week. We've had flashmobs, wellbeing walks and displays, as well as lectures and . You can discover more event inspiration and order your free awareness raising pack here

Don't forget to add your event to our activity map to let everyone know your plans for the week!
 
2. Share your story

If you have a personal story about how relationships have been a source of strength in your life and would like to share it with us, please contact stories@mentalhealth.org.uk for more information.
 
3. Spread the word!
